Delivery: We know last year’s severely delayed delivery schedule has some worried, but we are in the final stages of preparing the Yearbook for print and (per Lifetouch) expect them to be delivered at the end of May or first part of June.

5th Grade Celebration


5th Grade Celebration – Pictures Needed!

 Parents of 5th graders, please send any photos of your student from their time at Hightower to Gail Good, 5th Grade Celebration Chair, at The pictures can be from any school event such as Bike Rodeo, FitFest Color Run or Bubble Run, the First Day of School, Class Parties, Field Trips, Field Day, and more from Kindergarten until now.

These pictures will be used for a memory video that will be shown to the 5th graders the last week of school. Please label your pictures with your student’s name and send by Friday, May 15. Thank you!

Teacher Appreciation Week 2021 - Hightower Strong

Get ready to celebrate our fabulous Hightower teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week 2021 with the theme of "Hightower Strong: The Movie." 

Our Teacher Appreciation Week Hospitality Chair, Darlene Woodson-Smith, has lined up a fun-filled week of theme days, skits, giveaways, and plenty of yummy food to celebrate our teachers. Click here to see the fun-filled lineup!

We are looking for extra help during this week. Here's how you can be involved:

Donate! Click here to donate towards teacher gift cards! In doing so, your family's name will be included on a virtual "thank you" card presented by our PTA.

Hightower PTA Alumni Scholarship

Do you have a graduating senior who attended Hightower Elementary? Or do you know someone who does? Hightower PTA is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating PISD senior who attended Hightower for a minimum of 2 years, including 5th Grade.

You’re invited to join us for our May General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, May 5 at 9:30 a.m. via Zoom. In this meeting, we will install our 2021-2022 PTA Officers, as well as wrap up the school year with end-of-year reports from our 2020-2021 PTA Officers.

Carpool Safety Reminders

Good reminders for drivers:

  • Slow down in all school zones! Our school zones operate before school from 7:00-8:00 am and after school from 2:30-3:15 pm. The speed limit in all active school zones is always 20 MPH. 
  • Do not use your cell phone in any Carpool Line or while driving. It's illegal!
  • Watch out for the crosswalks. Always stop when the crossing guard is in the street holding up the Stop sign. Do not enter the street until the crossing guard has returned to the sidewalk.
  • Allow extra time to arrive early! The building opens to students at 7:30 am.
