Throughout the school year, Plano Crime Prevention Unit officers visit one elementary school a month and serve lunch to students in all grade levels from Kindergarten through 5th grade. The program, called "Cafeteria Cops", was created by Sgt. Frank McElligott over 10 years ago, and was aimed at giving kids a positive attitude towards law enforcement. In an emergency, police officers can be the safest place for children to turn. The program’s biggest priority is making sure that kids aren’t afraid to go to the police when they need help.

On Wednesday, September 25, Plano Police Officers Jerrick Young and Chris Bianez will play music, dance, and serve lunch at Hightower. The kids look forward to this day every year! We can't wait!
